Organizations involved in an authorized information matching program need to take reasonable steps, which may include public notification, to ensure affected individuals are notified of the program.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Codes of practice<\/h4>\n<p>The Act gives the Privacy Commissioner the power to issue codes of practice for specific industries, agencies, activities or types of personal information such as the Credit Reporting Privacy Code and Health Information Privacy Code.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t<section id=\"block_b79c79070f1ad9631953a3c1d38371c8\" class=\"columns-two\" style=\"padding-top:0;\">\n\t\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>International data transfer<\/h4>\n<p>The European Commission confirmed in January 2024 that New Zealand&#8217;s data protection safeguards remain adequate, allowing personal information to continue being transferred between the European Union and New Zealand.
